Bug Cops in the Community
Bug Cops in the Community is about more than treating pest problems. We believe in sharing knowledge, encouraging curiosity, and taking part in local events. It’s one more way we support the communities we call home.
For more than 30 years, Bug Cops has served families and businesses throughout Clay and Putnam Counties. Today, we also bring that experience into the community through hands-on pest education, family-friendly activities, and local events.
Whether we’re helping a child identify a mystery insect or answering a homeowner’s pest question, our goal remains the same: help people understand the pests around them and make informed decisions.

Meet the Junior Bug Cops
Some of our best pest investigators are the youngest ones!
Our Junior Bug Cop activities give children a fun, hands-on way to learn about insects and other pests. Through observation, clues, and a little detective work, young investigators discover how to recognize common pests found around North Florida.
One of our favorite activities is ID the Intruder. Children examine preserved pest specimens and look for clues.
We encourage our young investigators to study:
- Legs: How many can they count?
- Wings: Does the suspect have any?
- Antennae: Are they long, short, or missing?
- Body shape: Is it round, long, or flat?
Together, these clues bring them closer to identifying the suspect!
And there’s one rule every Junior Bug Cop learns:
Investigator #1 Rule: Look, don’t touch!
Our goal isn’t just to help children name a few bugs. We want them to become curious observers, understand the importance of safe pest identification, and have fun while learning.
Bug Cops in the Community: Case Files
Every community event gives us a chance to meet our neighbors, share what we know, and have a little fun along the way!
Florahome Fall Heritage Festival
October 17, 2026
Bug Cops joined local families for a day of pest education and hands-on activities at the Florahome Fall Heritage Festival.
Young investigators tested their skills with ID the Intruder. Adults examined pest evidence, observed live specimens, and voted for Putnam County’s Most Wanted Pest.
The festival was full of curious minds, great questions, and plenty of detective work!
Supporting Our Neighbors
Being part of a community means more than providing a service. It means showing up, sharing what we know, and supporting the people and organizations that make our area special.
Bug Cops enjoys taking part in local events that bring families together. That’s why we believe pest education should be useful, easy to understand, and available to everyone.
Whether we’re answering questions, helping children investigate insects, or supporting a local cause, we’re proud to be part of the communities we serve.
