Flea & Tick Control

Are you or your family pets being harassed by ticks and fleas? Don't let these unwanted intruders ruin your backyard fun! At Bug Cops Pest Control, we offer comprehensive Tick and Flea Treatment that will put these offenders where they belong!

Our Tactical Plan

Bug Cops Pest Control starts with a thorough evaluation of your situation to identify the invader. We offer a thorough and intense tick and flea treatment that will help to control the blood sucking varmints from attacking you. Bug Cops Pest Control makes life easier and safer for the people in our lives, especially for our children and fury friends.

Our tactical plan for the ticks and fleas uses an effective method of treatment. Along with using an insecticide, we use an Insect Growth Regulator (IGR), which interrupts the flea lifecycle by acting like birth control for them. With those two control measures combined with basic housecleaning and spraying specific areas will knock down adult fleas, making our program effective.

Treatment should begin after the cat and dogs have been treated by a veterinarian or with a proper flea treatment. Coordinate treatment appointment with the Bug Cops officer to make sure this gets done.

Preparation

When treating for fleas inside the home, it is a partnership - a partnership between the home owner and Bug Cops Pest Control officer. This means that there are certain preparations that needs to be done to prepare for treatment.

Preparing For Our Visit:

  • Plan to leave the premises for about four hours until the application has dried.
  • Eradicate adult fleas on your pets with high-quality tick and flea shampoos, sprays, and dips. Follow the manufacturers label when applying product to your dogs or cats.
  • Vacuum all carpeted areas that your pet has been in contact with including furniture and mattresses. After each vacuum, pour the contents into a seal bag and remove it from the house. This will help in eliminating the conditions in which immature fleas need to develop and grow.
  • Flea eggs hatch faster in warm temperature. Try turning your air conditioner off to encourage flea eggs to hatch.
  • Wash all pet bedding in warm soapy water to eradicate flea eggs, larvae, and the pupae.
  • If you are having your lawn sprayed for fleas, you need to mow the grass, pick up leaves, and make sure all debris and cluttered items are removed as they can harbor these invaders.
  • Cover fish tanks with a towel and turn off the aquarium pump.
  • Pick up and put away toys and other items that is on the floor and ground.

Prevention

After we have sprayed and the treatment a success, is not the time to let down your guard. There are some preventative measures to take to make sure another infestation doesn't happen. Those measures include:

  • Protecting your pets with monthly tick and flea treatments.  Re-apply after grooming or bathing.
  • Continue to monitor the areas that the pets are in.
  • Vacuum carpet, rugs, and furniture at least twice a week to remove any hint of flea eggs and feces.
  • Regularly wash pet bedding and blankets will make sure all the eggs are removed.

Lack of preparation could make treatment applications ineffective and cause a re-infestation to occur.

Bug Cops Pest Control will gladly return to take care of those intruders that have recently hatched. With ticks and fleas, there will be a minimum of two service calls that will be done. At times, possibly a third visit for a follow up visit, at no-charge, to make sure all is well.
